So I decided to takeadvantage of this sabbatical leave to learn about the world of work.Dr Coleman's wife But how？Dr Coleman Well, I went to Canada first and worked on a farm there. Every morning I gotup at 4:30 and worked thirteen hours a day in fields and barns. Then I wentdown to Atlanta and spent my time there digging ditches. I also washed dishesin a restaurant and even worked as a garbage collector for ten days.Dr Coleman's wife That was quite an experience. But did any of your students or colleaguesknow what you were doing？Dr Coleman No. I tried to keep it a secret.Dr Coleman's wife But did the people you met on these jobs ever have suspicions about you？Dr Coleman Not really.
