《英语笔译综合能力》(3级)(*新修订版)是根据国家人力资源和社会保障部《翻译专业资格（水平）考试暂行规定》的精神，依照《全国翻译专业资格（水平）考试英语笔译三级考试大纲（试行）》的要求编写而成。《英语笔译综合能力》(3级)(*新修订版)编写的宗旨是通过阅读和练习，系统提升学生的词汇和语法知识，提高阅读能力和词义辨析能力。全书共有八个单元，每个单元有两课，每课由课文、练习两大部分组成，练习分词汇、语法、阅读、完型填空四部分，鉴于《英语笔译综合能力》(3级)(*新修订版)主要是用于准备笔译综合能力（3级）的考试，为了便于学员掌握有关内容和提高应试能力，练习的类型基本和考试类型相同。《英语笔译综合能力》(3级)(*新修订版)的八个单元，由八大主题组成，分别为：体育与娱乐、旅游、政治、文化、教育和卫生、商务、工农业、科学。每个单元的两篇课文都是围绕相关主题展开，课后的阅读、完型填空等练习都和主题相关。为了便于学员掌握相关词汇，书中还列出了相关主题的基本词汇表。掌握这些基本词汇，有利于学员从事具体的翻译活动。

Pete Sampras will leave the game as he played it, a modest, easy, all-time great. You see all kinds of retirements in sports, and most of them are emotionally awkward and difficult to watch. There's the weeping news conference. There's the endless, ceremonial you'll-miss-me tour. There's the stutter-step retirement, in which the athlete retires only to unreturned when he craves attention or needs the money. Almost no one retires well.But Sampras is retiring in graceful self-control. He plans to announce his retirement in a ceremony at the U. S. Open tonight, and a lot of people wonder why Sampras won't make more of the event, allow himself to be more elaborately feted. The simple answer is that Sampras doesn't need it. He doesn't need a last jolt of adrenaline or dose of adulation. He doesn't need a prolonged ego bath. He doesn't need more money, or trophies. He doesn't need any of the things that other athletes find it so hard to walk away from. He's content.That contentment is a kind of achievement in its own right. Sampras has made himself invisible since his victory in last year's U. S. Open. His 14th major championship now stands as the last match of his career, the perfect finish.He's never played in another tournament. He's declined all interviews. He's simply stayed at home with his wife and new baby. Typically, he's chosen the anticlimactic first night of this year's tournament, rather than the last, to make his announcement. The session isn't even sold out.Some may find this disappointing, but I find it to be utterly true to who Sampras is. 黄源深，男，上海对外贸易学院教授，华东师范大学博士生导师，兼任上海翻译家协会副会长、中国翻译协会理事、全国翻译专业资格（水平）考试英语专家委员会委员，享受国务院政府特殊津贴。编著有《高校英语教材1-8册》、“九五”国家级重点教材《综合英语教程》、《英语泛读教程》，《英国散文选读》等30余部；译著有《简·爱》、《道连·格雷的画像》、《欧·亨利短篇小说选》、《老人与海》、《我的光辉生涯》等7部；发表学术论文60余篇。
曲卫国，男，复旦大学外文学院教授，博士生导师，外文学院副院长。曾荣获上海市优秀青年教师、复旦本科教学名师，复旦优秀研究生导师，上海市本科教学名师等称号及国家级教学成果二等奖。曾担任上海市专业技术人员英语电视主讲。2004年作为美国富布赖特学者在哈佛大学英语系做研究。现为中国语用学协会常务理事，上海翻译家协会会员，上海外文学会常务理事，中国修辞学学会会员。主要研究方向为话语分析、语用学、社会语言学、修辞学等。发表学术论文20多篇，编、写、译著作10余部。
