由A.C.Guyton和J.E.Hall主编的《医学生理学》是国外经典的医学生理学教科书之一，从1956年的第1版开始，每5年修订出版一次。最新的第10版内容涵盖了生理学的各个主要部分，全书分15篇84章，有850余幅插图。根据生理学教学的不同要求，作者把本书的内容分为学生必须掌握的内容以及需要了解的内容，仅需要了解的内容中又分三类：相关内容的复习；有关临床的内容；学生感兴趣，愿意深入了解的内容。在每章最后，附有参考资料供学生和教师进一步学习参考。
